They were insulted at every step They were thrown off the train. Indians were insulted as coolies by the white-skinned, black-minded British army. Mohandas himself was not spared from this insult. He was also thrown from the train. He was beaten for protesting. But Mohan Das did not yield. He remained in South Africa after his term of office as a lawyer ended. He founded "Natal India Congress" in 1894 in demand of respect to Indians. He did not hesitate to take up weapon for this protest - the weapon of non-violence. The most powerful weapon in the world. John Ruskin's book "Unto This Last" inspired him so much that he made Satyagraha the inspiration of his fight. A new sun rose all over the world. Many leaders in the world were inspired by his ideals. He became Mahatma from Mohandas. Like a father, he guided the unfortunate, oppressed countrymen.
